Also this fanfic contains the character "Yuna" from Final Fantasy X\X-2, however this fanfic is not endorsed or supported by Square Enix (Final fantasy). Also her personality is a cross between both games and her skills are a mixture from both games and some of my own ideas. Finally, The Michael Morpan character is a creation of my own. This takes place a few weeks after my second fanfic "Bucks fizz" Prologue Great Barr, Birmingham,UK Saturday 11AM Michael posed himself on the grass in the garden. He was sparring with Yuna, who was wearing her gunner costume ( A revealing ivory top linked to a light pink hood with ivory threads. She wears short navy blue\black shorts and a demi gypsy skirt with a Navy to light blue gradient, finished with a blue and white trim on every third. She still wears her necklace and wood earring. She also wears two yellow armbands, a black strip round her left wrist. A satchel tied to her beige belt and she wore small-heeled black boots with white laces.). Michael was wearing his casual clothes (fleece, t-shirt and trousers) and was getting better with his Tai-chi training. Michael and Yuna posed for a few seconds. Before unleashing themselves at each other. Michael's attacks seem weak compared to Yuna's as she was able to counter every move effectively. Michael was getting frustrated, not because he was losing just he hasn't been able to land one hit on her. She looks at her as he speaks. Michael: You may be an expert, but i don't give up. With that he runs up to her and grabs her right arm, she counters by tripping him over, she was about to put foot to nose when Michael rolled and turned before standing up. He tries to trip her up but loses balance, sending them both down to the grass. Michael felt a sharp pain in his head as he fell alongside Yuna. Yuna saved her breath and then rolled across to Michael, who has his right hand on his head. Yuna spoke in her warm, sweet tone. Yuna: Are you all right? Michael: Yes, I'm fine. Yuna: You hurt your head? Michael: Maybe i should think about balancing myself first before doing anything like that again. Yuna agreed with him yet she was more concerned about his health. Yuna: Let me have a look at your head. Michael took his hand off the red mark he concealed on his head. Yuna placed her right hand on the mark. Michael felt he was in pain again as she put her hand on it. Michael: That stings. Yuna: Oh Michael... I'm sorry. Here. Yuna closed her eyes as warm energy starts to come through her hand and into his head. Michael felt this strange, warm energy circling around his head, soothing the mark and making it less painful. Yuna opens her eyes and smiles. Yuna: There, you OK? Michael: Much better. I forgot you had healing powers. She removes her hand from Michael's head but kept looking at Michael. Once again, the young but blossoming chemistry between the two was starting once more. The dreamy look Michael makes towards Yuna as he looks at her blue-green walleyed eyes. The sweet warm smile Yuna makes to Michael, giving him a tingle every time. Michael was completely fascinated with her, the way she dresses with her (In Michael case) exotic and chic costumes, the way she always treats Michael as something special to her, and her amazing skills just take his breath away. Yuna feels the same way to, Michael may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he is starting to become what he wanted to be without anyone pushing him down. Yuna wonders why nearly everyone he meet in his life had to hurt him one way or another, making him very shy and lonely as a result, then again she herself is shy, for a different reason of course. Michael: I always wonder... what i call you everyday. Yuna: I know Mikey. Michael (Flirting): Your brave, warm, lovely, caring, friendly, beautiful, sweet.... I could go on. Yuna (Flirting): And you are handsome, brave,determined and fearless... and i don't need to tell more. Michael: But i can go further Yuna: You can? Michael: Yes, you have the innocence of a child, the beauty of a nymph, the temper of an angel, and the appearance of a goddess. Yuna smiles as she thinks. Yuna (Thinks): Sure it is flattery, but Michael never had a chance to get a girl. He was watched all the time by the bullies in his high school years. Maybe they secretly decreed that he must never have a girlfriend, even worse, when he tried to get a girlfriend she rejected him as such, she still was a friend to him, but not exactly one of his best friends. It made him too shy to get on with another, even though he always kept his eyes on one other girl. It is so sad. They both looked up to the sky, letting the intoxicating warm heat beat down on them. Michael: Lets call this match a draw. Yuna: Yes, lets do that. They watched the sky for a few minutes. Yuna liked being in the open, she likes to see the sun rise and set, the rain patter on her clothes , the snow falling on to her elegant hair. Part of the reason why is what she inherits from the games, the other half was just dreams Michael had of her. Which grew while she trained and prepared in the spirit world. Time passed for a bit, until Michael realized that if his family see him with Yuna, all kinds of problems will arise. So he stands up and heads back in. As he heads back in he saw a glimpse of pink light, he turns to see Yuna inside her stasis-like crystal for a few seconds until it dissolves, reveling Yuna in her Puesdo kimono. (BTW, there is deep pink mist surrounding Yuna while she changes costumes, so no, Michael does not see her in the nude, he hates nudity anyway). Half an hour later Michael was checking his e-mail, it was a web-based Yahoo account which he uses for his own e-mail, handing in work to collage and generally as form of ID and contact (As many sites use this as a field in their sign up forms, unfortunately many sites now go further wanting everything from your postcode to your job. Michael calls them "Infomongers", people who want to grab loads of information so they can sell it to the highest bidder). When he checked his mail, he noticed he received one message in his inbox. He checks his inbox to find an email from "emoon" at Cambridge University. What gave him concern was the fact that the subject line was "To Michael Morpan and Yuna". Michael (Thinks): How does he know about Yuna? Wait... maybe he just sent it to the wrong place... no you can't send an e-mail to the wrong place. You can accidentally mistype the e-mail address and the provider would send you an automated error when it tries to send it but... maybe he was... no Michael, this message is for you and Yuna. So call her up and open it! Immediately, Michael uses his mind link to contact Yuna Michael (Mindlink): Yuna, i need your help. In the computer room. Yuna (Mindlink): Coming. Yuna immediately walked into the computer room (where Michael is) and gave a small tap on Michael's shoulder. He turned to face her. Yuna: What's wrong Mike? Michael: I found this e-mail addressed for us. I wanted you to see it. Michael immediately turned back to the computer and opened the e-mail. The message read: To:Michael Morpan From:Eli Moon Subject:To Michael Morpan and Yuna Mr Morpan, You and your dreamer friend has come to my attention to hold an audience with you. There is no cause for alarm as i and my collages will reveal all upon your arrival. Lets just say at the moment we have common goals and common enemies which need to be addressed. Go to Cambridge university and speak to our receptionist, tell her that you have a meeting with me, she will send a associate of mine to meet you. Your faithfully, Eli Moon Yuna: Interesting, why would someone in a university want to meet us. Michael: I don't know, i don't plan to visit him anyway. Yuna: Why? Michael: He wasn't clear on his reasons for us to meet him. I don't want to walk into a trap, you know. Yuna: Hmm... Michael: And besides how am i going to cover this up with mom. Yuna: You will find a way, and if not, you know who you can count on. She smiles sweetly to him. Michael got the gist of what she meant. She could alter his mother's thoughts by astral projection or by using her dreamer's persuasion. Michael hopes that will not be needed. Michael: Well if we can cover this up then we can go, trap or no trap. I am not changing my clothes though. Yuna: OK. Michael shuts down the computer and then stands up to face Yuna. Michael: You're ready? She gives a nod to Michael. They hold hands and Yuna closes her eyes as they teleport to Cambridge, arriving just a few miles from the University. Arrival Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK 1PM Yuna and Michael teleported by the university, hoping nobody saw them. See that nobody did, they thanked the spirits and moved on to the reception. Michael: What should i tell her? Yuna: Just tell her that you have a meeting with Mr moon. Just like what the e-mail said. Michael: But what if Mr moon doesn't exist. Yuna: He is in the university... distant. Michael: How do you know. Yuna: I feel this energy coming from the building yet... it is somewhere off limit. Even from the University itself. Michael: Makes me nervous. She looks at Michael and smiles to him. Yuna: Don't worry, we will do it together. They enter the foyer and went to the reception. The receptionist turns to face them. Michael: Hello, we have appointment with Mr Moon. Receptionist: Ah, yes. I tell him your here. She picks up the phone besides her and dials an internal number. Michael breathed a sigh of relief over the fact that it may be genuine. After a few seconds on the phone, the reception hangs up the phone and looks back at Michael and Yuna. Receptionist:Mr Moon is in and is sending a associate of his to meet you. I suggest you sign these visitor passes just in case there are any security problems. She hands over two passes and a pen. Michael signs his as "MMorpan" before attaching it to his trousers. Yuna does the same, signing as "Braska Yuna" (Braska is the surname she uses as a cover to further blend in to the country), she attaches the pass to her skirt. A few minutes later, Michael and Yuna see a young girl hastily walk up to them. She has long brown hair with a small portion of it braided. She has dark brown eyes and wore a grey top and short skirt. She looked like she was rushing up to meet them as she approached. Ruby: So you two are his guests hmm... Already Yuna felt a strange presence over Ruby. Like there was a mask over her entire body. Ruby: Follow me. Immediately, Michael and Yuna followed Ruby down the corridors to the library. At the library she turns and faces them. Ruby: I must tell you now, other than the allies and friends of Eli, must you refrain from telling anyone about the place you are going to visit. OK? Michael: Are you sure about this? Ruby: Eli will explain the reasons when we arrive, but now you must trust me, OK? Yuna: It won't be a trap, i read her mind and she does not want to harm us, as will Eli. Michael:(Sighs) Fine. Ruby immediately goes to one of the books and pulls it open, revealing a secret passage way in one of the walls. Ruby: Follow me Immediately Michael and Yuna follow Ruby down the passageway. Being common Council of Clow Underneath Cambridge university,UK Michael and Yuna are led by Ruby to a medium sized room underneath the university. It looked similar to the library with a few exceptions. On the floor lies a strange symbol; a large round wooden table is in the center, nested by a set of chairs. There are many bookcases containing books on arcane and mythology. A computer was also on a table on its own, for access to the outside world. In front of Michael and Yuna was two people and a small black creature. On the one side lies a young boy with short black hair and dark eyes concealed by his glasses. He wears a dark blue robe with what looked like a image of the sun and moon on. On the other side is a young woman with long red hair tied in a ponytail. She has small yellow eyes and wears a white kimono. Finally, there is a small black creature on the table with pointed blue ears and blue eyes. He stared at Michael and Yuna like a cat. Immediately, the boy got out of his seat and walked up to Michael. Eli: Ah, so this is Michael Morpan. Allow me to introduce myself, i am Eli Moon. He offered to shake Michael's hand, Michael refused to do so though. Yuna: I'm sorry, he is shy when it comes to meeting new people. Eli: I see, no doubt that will change at the end of this meeting. He then bowed to Yuna, which Yuna did the same to him. Eli:Come please. He then showed them to the table. Michael and Yuna sat on the chairs by the table as Eli was introducing his friends and companions. Elegantly showing them to the woman... Eli: This is my friend Layla Mechinze... Then the creature... Eli: And my companions, Spinner... Then the girl who introduced them first. Eli: ... and Ruby. Eli then sat down Eli: Let me explain why you are here. For starters, the reason why i allowed you into this place below the campus is because of your interest to magic and the occult. That is why you are so interested and fascinated by its beauty, it is why you dreamt of a young woman who would save you from self-harm who now sits beside you, and why you will keep our meetings a secret to those who do not understand. Michael: How do you know? Eli: Because i am a magician, Michael. I can see things beyond the visual plane, i can sense energies which normal people can not and i can cast the most powerful magic in times of war and peace. Michael and Yuna noticed that Ruby was offering them tea. They take the cups of tea from her. And began to drink them. Eli: You see, i am a reincarnation of Clow Reed. A legendary Japanese magician whose legend still lives on today, conspicuously speaking... Yuna: What do you mean? Eli: There is a suburb in Tokyo named Reedington, if you must know. Yet not many know exactly why it is called Reedington and not many know its magical prestige. Eli stands up and begins to pull out some books from one of the shelves. Eli: You see, magic is a mold. Its shapes round its user and forms most of their strength. I myself, in my past incarnation, developed a series of magical spirits. Each one had its own purpose, some for battle, some for peace. Some are elements, others are more special. But i knew that soon their powers will need to be bounded in order to keep the balance. I used my magic to seal each card away, then i created a place to store them for the next master. Michael: Next master? Eli: I knew my time was drawing near, the seasons came and go and so came my destiny. In another life, i would be bringing a sense of order within the magically inclined. But for now i needed to make preparations for the new master. Eli: I produced a hollow book and placed the two guardians i created at the time in there. Their job was to train and test the new owner of the cards, known as Clow cards. It would be 300 years since Clow reed's death that seal on the book would be broken. Layla: You see, Eli, in his previous form had the gift of foresight. He knew who would inherit the cards and so forged the staff needed into the new owner's image. He still has this gift today, though not as powerful as it was before. He also forged a ancient device that would serve to negate his powers energy. Eli: Lets not rush into that, dear. Our friends need to know everything one step at at time. The first book Eli finally lays on the table a pink book. On the front is the same symbol seen on the floor by the table. There was some writing on it, some in English and some in Japanese. It read: "Council of Clow log Sakura Avalon" It was done again in Japanese. Eli:300 years passed and the book found its way into one of my descendants, an archaeologist by the name of Adrian Avalon. He was unable to open the seal so he left it in study. Then one day, Adrian's young daughter Sakura found the book by accident and was able to break the seal, she saw the cards and accidentally awakened one of them sending the rest of the cards out of flying out of the house. Eli: You see the seal, like the lever Ruby used to open the passageway to here was protected by magic and only magic can see and unlock the seal. Michael: But if Sakura could have opened it, then Adrian would have too? Layla: No He looks at Layla as he made his reply Michael: Huh? Layla: There is a saying "there is no coincidence, only fate", Adrian was destined to take the book and place it in the study, and Sakura was destined to open the book and accidentally send the cards out. Yuna: So you believe fate controls us? Layla: Well... Eli: There are moments where one man can change his destiny, he does not see when that time comes, but in his heart the answer is given to him, even when it is muted, it drives him until he listens to it. Michael: Drives him... Michael looks at Yuna and wonders. Michael (Thinks): Drives him... drives him. Could it be? Reality kicks in again as Eli speaks. Eli: Please open the book. Michael and Yuna opens the book, on the inside they see a photo of a young 12 year old girl with medium auburn hair and emerald eyes. She was smiling kindly in the picture. Michael starts to blush slightly over how cute she is, which Yuna accepted as his common weakness when it comes to beautiful girls. As they read the profile underneath the picture, Eli started to speak about the girl. Eli: Sakura has been the ideal candidate for the cards ever since i foreseen it in the past. Kind yet determined, cheerful yet not silly, strong yet peaceful. Athletic and lovable, you could never be mad at her for long. Eli: Anyway, once Sakura broke the seal and let loose the cards, Kero, the first guardian awakened from the book and recruited her as Cardcaptor. It was Kero's role to be Sakura's mentor for the ordeal. But I and Kero had to withhold information from Sakura until it was needed. Michael: What information? Eli:For starters, Kero withheld information about what would happen after all the cards were sealed. And i withheld information about what i did to Kero in the past. But please, let me explain what has happened, it will be come all clear to you. Eli: By the time we began logging Sakura's actions she already sealed half of the cards, met an indirect descendant of my former and has forged a solid foundation for her magic. We began logging Sakura's actions to the best possible notice. Yuna: You mean you didn't began observing at the start? Spinner: We suspected that Sakura would not have any trouble with the first half of cards so we were not required at that time. Plus, we needed to find ways to insert us into places where we can monitor her without anyone being none the wiser. Michael: (Sighs): Spying behind someones back isn't a good idea. Spinner: Then how would you suggest we would obtain all the information about the new holders of Clow, especially when... Eli: Enough! Your question does raise a point about the morals we should face with the new holders. Indeed, we were in the shadows for too long when it comes to training the new Cardcaptor... but, without the cryptic guidance from us and the foresight of my ancestors. We may have not been in this place before. Unfortunately, we are still in a position where we have not been able to fully archive Sakura's actions, or her friends. This is why the logs are only of observations made by me and Layla. To complete the archive we need the knowledge of the new holders. Michael: OK, i will let you off. Providing the rest of the story is sound. Eli: Indeed, our logs started when Layla went to Reedington, under the cover as a teacher at Sakura's elementary school. By keeping herself close to Sakura and her small group of friends she was able to give cryptic clues as to what is about to happen or how to stop certain threats. Layla: You see, i have the gift of foresight as well as the ability to protect myself from certain magical effects. With this in mind, i was able to secretly help Sakura. She treated me as a friend because of how i cared about her, even though my job was as a teacher. Eli:Regardless of Layla's help, Sakura was able to seal most of the cards before the final judgment. Only 6 of the cards at first went to her "rival". Michael: Rival, you mean there was another Cardcaptor? Eli: No, more like a person who made himself into a Cardcaptor However, he considered himself to be the rightful heir to the cards regardless of what destiny told him. Green, Yellow and Blue Eli hands over 3 more books to Michael and Yuna, it had the same council of Clow log markings only with the names of the logs being Li Shoron, Meilin Rae and Madison Taylor. Yuna opened the Green book which contained the logs of Li Shoron. His profile was shown on the inside front cover with a photo of him, a boy with short rough brown hair and dark brown eyes. He had a serious demure. Michael looked over her as they read the profile while Eli explained. Eli: Li Shoron is an indirect descendant of Clow Reed from Hong Kong. Unlike Sakura he has studied since childhood on magic, martial arts and swordplay, and considers the Clow cards to be a formal aspect of his family. To be denied the right to hold them would have been something that would taint his heritage... or so he thought. Michael: Why is that? Yuna: Because Sakura's family is a direct descendant of Clow. So to him, it would have been a need to obtain the cards before they fell into a "foreign" family. Michael: But, how did he become a Cardcaptor like Sakura? Eli: He didn't... Michael looks at Eli Eli: He assumed that he alone was Cardcaptor as birthright. He assumed that everything he owned was to be used to seal the Clow cards. Regardless of who or what was said, he made up his mind, he was going to obtain the Clow cards no matter what. He did not count on fate intervening and showing that he was wrong. Eli: Li was arrogant at first, he believes he was trained for this and not Sakura, who at the time was still learning about her role. As a result, he was frosty towards Sakura and this would be his downfall. Yuna: Why? Spinner: The Clow cards are designed to support the master who has a strong but kind heart not only to him or herself, or to others but to even the littlest thing imaginable. The first action you should usually do is to try and work out a peaceful solution. Eli: Indeed, the two did work out peacefully as they engaged in friendly rivalry, it took some time before they realized what they truly feel about one another. Especially Li's cousin arrived... Eli then pointed to the yellow book. Eli:...Meilin Rae Yuna pulled the book to her and opened it, once again on the inside cover was a picture and profile of the logbook's source. This time of a cheerful yet proud girl with dark hair and brown eyes. Once again, Michael looked over the book. Eli: Meilin was Li's cousin, despite not having any arcane powers, thought that she could help Li. Indeed she had the same martial arts as Li, but without arcane senses she was at a disadvantage. However, she proved me and Layla wrong when we heard that she was able to take on Fight and Twin effectively. This proved that anyone can take on arcane forces providing they know how to. This proof was strengthened by Sakura's friend, Madison Taylor. Michael knew which book was needed here and proceed to open the blue book. As before, the profile and picture was in its usual place in the logbook. The picture showed a pretty girl with long black hair with a green hair band and deep blue eyes. This time it was Yuna who was looking over Michael's shoulder. Eli: Madison provided the ideal link between Sakura, Li and Meilin. She had made good suggestions when it came to tackling each of the cards. In addition, she made Sakura's costumes and filmed all the encounters. She was also able to mediate and discuss any problems with the other three. Ruby went up to Eli Ruby: Eli, i know you want to give your lecture but it has just passed dinner. Michael: Your friend is right. Besides, my brain is cooked with all that lecture. I am surprised i am awake. Yuna laughs at Michael's remark. Eli:Well maybe Ruby will see to your needs for dinner then. You may leave the library for a while while you wait for Ruby to return with your food. Ruby: Yes, master Eli. Interlude University campus grounds Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK 2PM For a while, Michael and Yuna are out of the council chambers and are back in the fresh air, Michael is trying to keep himself awake with some cola with he purchased with his loose change. Meanwhile Yuna and Layla were in one of the corridors looking out of the window. Layla: You have developed a beautiful relationship with Michael. Yuna: Thank you. Layla: I have to admit, i sensed something was wrong with him before you became part of his life. You see my powers are similar to Eli's. Just not of the same bloodline. Every now and then, i had this nightmare about him. It was always about school, always about being bullied, always about losing his friends accidentally because of his actions. But he believed, he believed that someone would save him. Even when that wish looked like it would never happen, he kept believing, he kept believing in you. Yuna smiled, for someone she has just met, Yuna already started to admire her kind spiritual strength, it reminds her of herself. Layla: You saved him from losing everything in his life and have given him hope. I now see that he, via your warmth and care will become an important person not just to you, or to Sakura, but to many people. And then maybe even the world and beyond. Not just because of your duty, because you are his friend, his angel, his dream. Layla: But, there is one thing you need to help him find. Yuna: What is that? Layla: An answer to an important question in his life. Yuna: But how? Layla: The time will come when he might say it, but you shouldn't force it out. Not that you will. Yuna: I understand. Ruby then appears going to the two. Ruby: Dinner is served. Layla: Thank you Ruby. Yuna (Mindlink): Mikey, dinner is ready in the council. Michael (Mindlink): OK. And with that they leave for dinner. Judgment and Test Council of Clow Underneath Cambridge university,UK 3PM Michael and Yuna has just had there dinner in the Council chambers and are now ready to continue their discussions. The food was elegantly prepared and handled well making Michael think how well Eli treats his guests. Eli immediately continues where he left off. Eli: So, where should i continue... ah yes... through the efforts of Sakura, Li, Meilin, Madison and Kero they were able to seal all 52 cards. With the four element cards that formed the basis of the deck sealed, Kero was able to transform into his true form Kerobarous. And then came the information that was withheld from Sakura. The final judgment. Layla: The cards are powerful spirits and so in the wrong hands would cause serve consequences to the world, so in order to find the true owner of the Clow cards a test had to be formed. As soon as all the cards were sealed, one person planted in the Cardcaptor's life would transform into Yue, the moon guardian. That planted person was Sakura's friend, Julian. Eli: While Kero's task was to choose the candidate, it was Yue's task to test the candidate. Yue thought that no one could replace his master Clow Reed. So he was determined to make sure no one would take his place. However, since Sakura and Li both had Clow cards they had to be both tested. Li was first, his direct approach on attempting to defeat Yue ended in failure. Then Sakura was tested, if she failed everything that has happened since the realized of the Clow cards would be erased. Michael: All or nothing essentially. Eli: Yes, but i secretly worked the battle out in Sakura's favor when my previous incarnation foreseen it. I already forged the staff on Sakura's image. With Sakura's kindness she wouldn't hurt Yue for who he also is Julian. There i forged a device to negate my powers, a bell handled like a gauntlet would be used to repel my magic and when used in the Final Judgment, would give Sakura her second chance. Eli: The need of a person who is not only strong but peaceful and kind is know by many as a ideal person, Sakura is one of them. Through her peaceful approach and her strong will, she defeated Yue not by brute force but by peacefully showing that she just wanted him to be his friend and would not hurt him because of that. However, her powers were essentially loaned from mine and as she got stronger, i got weaker. Yuna: I thought that Sakura had her own arcane powers. Eli: True, but the powers were untapped until she became Cardcaptor, the sealing of the Clow cards allowed her to build a framework for her soon to be developed arcane powers. But the Clow card's powers draw from the staff and as the staff is directly linked to the Clow, draw through me. I became desperate, i needed to stay alive and see Sakura's ordeal through. So i foolishly gave another girl my powers. Michael: So you selected another girl to become a Cardcaptor? Eli: Not exactly, i selected someone to share my powers with and in exchange teach her the ways of the Clow dynasty. Her name was Minko Kao... Eli hands over a black book. This time the cover read: "Threat report Minko Kao Dark Cardcaptor" Eli: Minko came from South Korea, she had arcane powers but was not part of the Clow dynasty in any way. I took a chance to share my powers with her so i can be kept alive and in exchange i would teach her how to use it. But that was going to be my downfall... Yuna: What happened? Eli: For a start my actions were outlawed by the Council, Layla and several associates of mine overruled my decision. Yet i was blindly determined to see this through regardless of the consequences. Immediately fate also condemned my decision and showed me the truth. That Minko was only in it for power started to come forth. She started by finding about me and my ancestry, she found out about all of the ancestry and the Clow cards. Then to my surprise she attacked me, saying that i am holding her back from obtaining the true power and that she will do whatever she can to obtain it. Michael: In other words, she went power mad. Eli: Yes, she didn't have a heart nor a sense of responsibility with her magic, in fact she was abusing her powers as soon as she declared her lust for power. She started by destroying most of her residence that did not agree or join her campaign. Many people became displaced unaware of the truth behind it. So i had to stop her. Eli: I engaged her one night where she was already declaring herself the ruler of Korea. I clashed with her, knowing that my powers were weak at the time. In a last ditch attempt i sealed her away in a stasis prison. I buried the prison into the ground, hoping that it would delay her long enough so that i can assemble the necessary forces to defeat her when she comes back. Starting with a resolution that would provide a secret training program for Sakura. Michael: Secret resolution? Eli: To prevent the same incident from happing again Layla, Spinner and Ruby devised a plan that would secretly assist Sakura in all areas. In short, it was a advanced training course, a simulation of what her tasks may be and a development program for her arcane powers. He hands over a parchment to Michael and Yuna, on it contained the resolution that Eli was talking about: In order for the next candidate to follow the legacy of our dynasty, and to prevent the fateful incident in South Korea. The following steps must take place as soon as the candidate is chosen: * One member should "accompany" the candidate half way through the sealing process, cryptically helping her towards the final judgement and offering a second chance if called for. * Following the sealing of all cards and final judgement the candidate will have completed the basic training. Advanced training will then follow. * Advance training will rely on Eli to secretly test the candidate in a number of scenarios. The primary aim is for the candidates to switch from the loaned mana source Clow Reed left to his\her own mana source. This might be difficult at first, since the candidate's body will not be able to cope at first but please give perseverance. * Eli will have the ability to abort all but the final test (which is a all or nothing test). * Upon completion of the advanced training, the candidate is official considered the cardcaptor. Eli: To ensure that i was able to perform the advanced training i made sure i never aged, this way i could get close to Sakura without any suspicion. Michael and Yuna now knew how Layla's part ties in with the proposal. Yet They both feel disgusted that there was a secret plot, however Yuna felt that Eli was sorry about doing such a thing, unlike Michael who considers secrets like this to be corrupt and immoral regardless of how. Eli: There was also another problem, in order to for Sakura to switch her arcane source from the loaned energy to that of her own, she needed to forge the staff under her own image. She managed to forge the staff under the image of the star. Soon the book changed to also reflect the same image. But now the mana source from the staff and book had changed, the link between them and the cards was cut. If the link was left like this for a long time the cards will lose there link to Sakura and would become wild again. Michael: Which is why the advanced training was created. Eli: Indeed, i planted myself as one of the students in Sakura's class. My mission was now to secretly assist Sakura in transferring all the cards and thus her mana system into her own. To do this i created certain events around Reedington, this events would be many scenarios Sakura will have to face in the future. From small incidents to unnatural phenomenons, from warped humor to life and death situations. In each scenario she will have to rely on one of her cards, but i already designed the scenario where she will have to convert one of her Clow cards into her own arcane system known to her as Star cards. This took a lot of stamina out of her at first causing her to faint now and then, but soon her body adapted to her arcane powers and she grew stronger with each conversion. Michael: What if she failed your tests? Spinner: You think that Eli wouldn't care about Sakura!? I... Eli raised his hand at Spinner, signalling him to be quiet. Eli: Michael, i know you don't like lies and deception... what i may say will offend you, but please listen to what i have to say and you may understand why. Eli: My final test was to plunge the world into darkness so Sakura would have to convert the Light and Dark cards, but such astral forces would require not only her guardian's strengths but also her friends. With the help of Li channeling his powers into the staff, they dispelled the darkness and the final test is complete. Sakura has now channeled all of the energies given to her and has completed the dynasty's needs, she is now Cardcaptor. Layla: This concluded the tests needed for Sakura to pass, we explained the reasons why they occurred with the exception of one... about the need to defeat Minko. Michael: You mean you didn't tell her about an active threat to her work? Eli: No, because i wanted to give her space to make up her own decisions. And i needed to return to archive the logs of them. Now i need to make apologies to Sakura for what i done but first i must apologize to you, Michael. Michael: Why? Eli: I need you and Yuna to help out me and the rest of the council. Ahead of us Eli: You are aware of whats been happening in the world. Lack of regulation has made leaders think they are omnipotent and use that to abuse those at the bottom. Because of this, the world is dying unable to defend itself from many threats. Lack of ethnics have also caused divisions within society,while some barriers between people have disappeared, new threats have caused new barriers. Michael: I know, the world is a mess because of some people who think they are gods. Eli: This is why i said we have common enemies, our enemies are the corrupt and dark forces that are plaguing the world. I want a unified world, just like you. The council's secondary purpose was to build a portion of the unification plans. I have allies that will attempt to build the other unification plans, at this time though you have to trust me as i can't disclose details at the moment. Yuna: What is your part? Eli: To allow magic users to be alongside others without fear. To allow them to show they skills to others without fear or reprisals. This will mean curbing the hunting of them, and regulating their powers to a system that will benefit both sides of the problem. Part of the problem involves rooting out magic users who abuse their powers on others, like Minko. The other half of the problem is the acceptance of the arcane powers with the need to regulate such power. Michael: In my light, all power should be capped at the top and regulated at the bottom. Layla: Yes, before they became such institutions they were ordinary civilians like you and me. They need to realize the roots stay at where they began. Eli then stands up and walked beside Michael. Eli: Which is where you and Yuna come in. I want you, Michael Morpan, to become Clow guardian and protect Sakura, the council and the dynasty. Nothing will change other than the fact that i will need to contact you when we need your assistance. Yuna will also join you if you accept my offer. There is one other thing you will need... Eli goes over to a cupboard a pulls out a samurai sword with a gold hilt and a strange symbol on the middle of the hilt (which also appears on the sword) and presents it to him. Eli: This is the Wu Fang sword, based on the knowledge of Japanese and Chinese swords, this blade was created by Clow Reed to be inherited by the Clow guardian, who would defend the Cardcaptor. The guardian has no arcane powers of his own, so the sword was created to tap into the users spirit. Layla: The staff, sword and bell was created to be given to certain users to this dynasty. Sakura, the Cardcaptor, inherits and forges the staff to her own image. I was given the bell to assist Sakura in the final judgment, that role complete, i no longer have the bell. You will now inherit the Sword, and its purpose to protect the Cardcaptor and the forces of light. Eli: The sword taps into your spirit and uses it to inflict as much or as little damage as you wish. It can also cause animal like attacks on your foes. Be warned though not to use the sword too much, your body has not been fully adapted to the sword and so if you use the sword for too long at first it can make you go primal, unaware of what is happening in the world. Yuna stands up and goes up to Michael. Eli: Well... Michael puts his hand on the sword Michael: Though i have not been part of your dynasty, i have heard your needs in both past and present. Although i have not yet met your successors, i am looking forward to meeting them. We have the same goals yet different approaches to them. We need people like you Eli and so i accept the role as guardian of Clow. I will protect Sakura and her friends from Minko and other dark forces. Yuna puts her hands on Michael's hands. Yuna: And i will help him, no matter what, i promise to protect Michael, Sakura and your other friends for the spirit world. Michael: Though there is one thing... Eli: What is that? Michael: You must apologize to Sakura for your actions against them and show them the council Eli: Of course Michael, i promise to show them, let no more secrets hide us. Spinner: Well, Michael, i hope it will be an honor to serve this position. Michael: It sure will Spinner. Eli: Right, it will be time to leave now. Layla, will you see to it that the sword is handed to Michael when we are out of the campus? Layla: Yes Eli. Eli: Right, Ruby see them off. I look forward to meeting you again Michael and Yuna. With that they bowed to each other, Yuna doing the same. Michael and Yuna then followed Ruby out of the council and back into the university. Ruby stopped when at the library. Ruby: One more thing... Eli would like to know how to contact you. Michael: He has my e-mail address if he wants to contact me there. Ruby: But what about a more...active...contact. Michael: I have my mobile number, call me only if needed. Ruby: Rest assured, my master will use it wisely. Michael exchanges his contact details with Ruby then he and Yuna leaves the University, happy that a new prospect in the fight for freedom will soon come to them. Michael received the sword from Layla outside the campus ground. Layla: Make sure you hide this from your family. Michael: I promise. Layla: Keep your friend safe Yuna. Yuna: I will, don't worry about me. My role is to protect and care for Michael, amongst others. Michael: I look forward to meeting Sakura, Layla. Goodbye. And with that Michael and Yuna hold each others hands and then Yuna teleports them back home.
