Prologue Madrien Club, China Jann lee watched over the door leading into the club. He wore his standard bouncer suit on (white shirt, grey waistcoat, black trousers and black boots). He looked like he was dressed for a meeting of something, but that didn't mind him, he was just doing his job. He ponders over the thoughts about his rival Leifang, but always dismiss it as nonsense suggesting he always win. He suddenly heard glass being smashed at the top of the club. He looked around trying to find someone to take his place. He found one of the guards hovering. Jann Lee: You there, take my place Guard: Wh... What? Jann Lee: Just take it! Within a second Jann Lee runs into the club and to the elevator, he wonders where the break in may be so he enters the elevator and chooses floor 80. Thinking to himself... Jann Lee: Money does not mean anything to me... just the thought of battle. The elevator opens on floor 80, inside he see someone emptying the safe, Jann lee knew that beside the money, there was a figurine the club was so keen on keeping for special events, the golden lotus, it was handmade by a friend of the club and so it was vital for Jann Lee to make sure it doesn't leave the club. Jann Lee: You...Stop! The thief turned and faced him; it was a female catburgler, European to be exact. She has medium brown hair and deep brown eyes; she had red lips and a small spot on the bottom right by her lips. She wore a leopard skin top concealed by her black jacket and trousers. She wore a beautiful necklace with rows of diamonds, lots of beautiful rings and red nails. She wore black shoes and looked very sexy. The catburgler was known as Romera. She was holding the figurine as Jann Lee approached. Jann Lee: Put that back! Romera: Why? Afraid I might drop it? Romera then drops the figurine. Jann Lee gasped as he grabbed it, stumbling on the floor. As he turned around he saw Romera approaching him with a hydrospray. Jann Lee tries to kick it away but she grabs his knee and injects a viral from her hydrospray. Jann Lee suddenly could not move as his body flopped like a fish. Romera grabbed the figurine. Jann Lee: Argh... I can't move. What did you do! Romera: A Small paralysing fluid... you will be able to move within 1 hour, giving me time to escape, with this. Showing him the figurine Jann Lee: You won't get away with it... the police will be looking for it once I report it. Romera thought for a second and then she approaches Jann Lee Romera: You know... your right; I could get caught with it, but not if I mask the thief. Romera looks at Jann Lee and shows two fingers over his eyes. She moves them slowly Romera: You are getting sleepy ...sleepy...sleepy...sleepy. Jann Lee starts to get sleepy, unable to move due to the viral. Romera: Relax... relax...relax Jann Lee is hypnotized Romera: Now tell me Jann Lee, who are you afraid of, other than me? Jann Lee monotone: I have a rival who I fear may beat me when I fight her. Romera: Who is she? Jann Lee monotone: Leifang Romera: Listen to my voice, Leifang stole the golden lotus because you are stronger than her, she wants you to prove it and should you succeed, she will return the figurine to you. Jann Lee monotone: Leifang... the thief...my rival...challenges me. Romera: Yes, she challenges you to a duel with and should you succeed she will tell you where she has hidden the Golden Lotus. She stole it by using her charms on the guards; you were the only guard she did not see. Jann Lee monotone: Yes... she must be defeated and I will punish the guards. Romera: Good, now when I count to 3 you will fall asleep for 30 minutes and wake up remembering nothing...nothing except what I said. One...two...three. Jann Lee falls asleep and Romera leaves him. She pulls out a rappel line and rappels down the club's wall. Fired up Jann Lee was opening his eyes to see his boss, Zhou Jen, he was dressed in a purple suit and his hair was short and neatly trimmed. He looked cross at him Zhou Jen: Hope you enjoyed your beauty sleep, Jann Lee... Jann Lee stands up and faces him Zhou Jen: BEACAUSE MY PRIZED ITEM IS GONE!! Normally a person would say sorry, but not Jann Lee Zhou Jen: I have to close the club because of it, I have to call the police because of it, and maybe I will have to fire you... because of it. Jann Lee: I understand... Jann Lee then noticed several guards behind Zhou Jen Jann Lee: But your guards allowed it Zhou Jen: What do you mean? Jann Lee: A young girl... went in to your club... and flirted at the guards to grant them access to... restricted areas, she stole the golden lotus. Jhou Jen: What about the window? Seeing the window entirely smashed, however his head was on firewood, he couldn't remember who broke in. Jann Lee: I tried to stop her; the glass must have been smashed in the progress. Zhou Jen: Hmm... you really don't know what happened yet you know who stole the Golden Lotus, tell me who stole it? Jann Lee: An old rival, Leifang Zhou Jen was shocked Zhou Jen: You mean that girl in the DOA tournament... well... lets not jump into conclusions... I notify the police and it will be returned. Jann Lee: No, I will go and get it myself; I will challenge her for it. Zhou Jen: Very well, you get this figurine back; I will give you bonus pay, but if you fail, do not return. Now go! Jann Lee leaves; Zhou Jen looks at one of the guards. Zhou Jen: You, call a psychologist and put a notice on the club door that this club is closed until further noticed. Guard: Yes sir Zhou Jen: And the rest of you, you pay is withdrawn pending internal investigation. No surprise Great wall of china Leifang was looking out from the wall admiring the sunset. She wore a violet jacket (with a yin-yang embroidery), crimson top, purple trousers (with a dragon embroidery) and purple shoes. Her hair was in it usual braids. Leifang: I could stay here all day... Just then she heard someone run up to her, it was Jann Lee. Leifang: Jann lee, I wasn't expecting you. Jann Lee: Expecting me... you knew I would come and accept your challenge. Leifang: Challenge? ...What challenge? Jann Lee: You stole the Golden Lotus, and after I defeat you I will claim it back. Leifang: What are you talking about, I haven't stolen anything? Jann Lee: Don't fool me Leifang, you went to great lengths to get it, flirting at the guards, property damage and even attacking me. At this point Leifang was in a rage. Leifang: No, you are fooling yourself Jann Lee! I wouldn't do such a thing! Jann Lee: That's it! Jann Lee takes up a fighting stance, Leifang does the same. Jann Lee: If you are not going to agree to this challenge I will force you into it. Jann Lee then swipes a right kick at her and Leifang crashes into the wall. Pulling herself up she looks at Jann Lee, enraged. Leifang: I don't know what has gotten into you, but I will not be defeated again. Leifang thrusts herself up and starts to jab and kick Jann Lee, Jann Lee does similar moves forcing a stand off. Jann Lee: Why don't you give up Leifang? Leifang: I never do. Jann Lee: So be it! As Jann Lee resumed his attack... Police officer 1: You! Stop right there! A group of police officers converge on Jann Lee. Jann Lee struggles to break free as he is handcuffed. Jann Lee: Hey... what's the big deal? Police officer 1: We got a call about a maniac who works at the Madrien Club, you seem to fit the ID of who we are looking for. We need you to answer some questions at the police station. Jann Lee: I haven't done any thing wrong! That girl is the one you should be arresting, she stole the golden lotus. Police officer 2: The only person who filed that was you... so we can't arrest her. As the police push Jann Lee out of the great wall, the second officer looks at Leifang. Police officer 2: Do yourself a favour and keep a lid on this. Leifang would have frowned at him but she was more concerned at Jann Lee. Leifang: (What has gotten into him?) She leaves slowly taking one last look at Jann Lee. Rigged Leifang's house, Beijing, China Leifang returned home, her home was rather upmarket especially due to the funding from her family. As she entered the foyer... Romera: Hello, Leifang Romera appears holding the Golden Lotus Leifang: Who are who? How did you get in? Romera: I am catburgler; I could get into anything I want. Leifang: If you are going to steal something, you will have to go through me. Romera: Oh no I am not going to steal from you, I am just going to plant some evidence which will get you off my scent. Leifang: If you won't leave then prepare to lose! Leifang begins to attack her; Romera counters the blows well even though she was holding the figurine in one of them. Romera: Surprised? You shouldn't be... I wouldn't leave myself open to attack, that's why the first thing I did before staring was train myself in several martial arts. I even learnt how to counter while holding weapons. She puts down the figurine, Leifang though she saw the opportunity and tried to trip her up but Romera grabs her right leg, she holds her leg and twists her. Leifang gets up but before she could act, Rommera grabs her and then puts her hands on the sides on her head. Romera: Look into my eyes Leifang. Leifang struggles to loosen her grip from her. Romera's eyes begin to glow. Romera: You are getting sleepy Leifang...sleepy...sleepy. Suddenly the doors smash open; outside a young girl appeared in the shadows. Romera was suddenly caught off guard and so had no choice but to abort the hypnosis. So she releases her then grabs her quickly and throws her to the side. Kasumi: You hurt her...why? Kasumi appears from the shadows wearing her blue battle dress. Her hair was in a ponytail. Romera: Well you interrupted my hypnosis session on her, that's why she is hurt. Kasumi: You haven't answered my question. Romera: No and I do not need too, luckily I have a Plan B. She throws a smoke bomb at her and before she leaves... Romera: Stay out of this! When the smoke clears, Kasumi runs over to Leifang. Kasumi: Are you all right? Recovering, Leifang looks at Kasumi. Leifang was partly brushed. Leifang: Kasumi... how did you know I was here. Kasumi: I heard fighting out side for just a few seconds; I came as quickly as I can. I... um... didn't know this was your house. Leifang: I moved in a few months ago Leifang stands up. Leifang: So, still evading your brother's ninjas again I see... Kasumi didn't answer, rather her felling answered for her, and she felt sad that Leifang asked the question. Leifang: Oh sorry, must have been personal. Kasumi nods her head Kasumi: Are you all right? Leifang sighs. Leifang: Yeah... if you can call having been ruffled up by Jann Lee and then that catburgler. What was it with her; she wanted me alive for some plot with that figurine. Kasumi: What did it look like? Leifang: It was gold and had a lotus flower and... Leifang suddenly realized that was the figurine Jann Lee was talking about. Leifang: What a minute! That was the golden lotus Jann Lee thought I stole from him. That catburgler must have been trying to put it in here so I will be blamed for it. Kasumi: We got to find him then Leifang: But he is down in the police station, there is no way we can get him out. Kasumi: Why? Leifang: Because they think he has gone insane. Kasumi: We will have to try. Leifang: First things first, you need to change your clothes because its got "runaway ninja" written all over it. Kasumi: Has it? Leifang: Figuratively speaking...sorry. Sanity ward Police station, Beijing In a dimly lit room Jann Lee was being questioned by the police, a psychologist was also there. Jann Lee was nervous. Jann Lee: Why does he have to be here? Police officer: Its for your safety, we checked the security footage at the Madrien Club and we find nothing that backs up your evidence. We therefore assume that are conspiring and therefore you could face serve punishment. Unless of course you have more to say? Jann Lee: Can I have a look at the footage? Police Officer: I don't think that will... Psychologist: Please, let him, it may jog him memory. Police Officer: Oh all right. The police officer switches on the video and the footage is shown. When it comes to the break in, Jann Lee is furious. Jann Lee: Explain that then; whoever that woman is stole the golden lotus and yet you still blame me! Police officer: Please try to understand, we are now dealing with two separate incidents, this theft and your insanity and conspiring. The footage then shows Jann Lee getting hypnotized Psychologist: Ah, that may explain his problem; hypnosis can be used by gifted criminals to cover up their tracks, Jann Lee was merely barking up the wrong tree but couldn't help it because it has been "programmed" into him. Jann Lee: How can this be removed? Psychologist: Well, the only solution I could offer is to "reprogram" his thoughts to remove the hypnotic suggestion, though it is dangerous. Jann Lee: Well officer, I suggest I go with this and get let me back to my workplace. Police officer: No you won't The officer then pulls out a gun and points it at Jann Lee Police officer: Because this is my lucky day... once the people know I caught a maniac think of the money and fame I will get, and if I kill you, think of how much more. Jann Lee: You crooked numbskull! Psychologist: Calm down officer, it isn't really necessary to shoot him. I mean he didn't do you any harm, its just some people don't appreciate liars and... The officer then turns the gun to the psychologist and shoots him. Jann Lee then kicks the gun away and runs out of the door. Police officer: Damm you! He hits the alarm, outside Leifang and Kasumi notices the alarm being raised. Kasumi is now wearing a black\white checked top and white long skirt, her hair now untied. Leifang: Leave it to Jann Lee to get hot headed Kasumi and Leifang run into the police station. Meanwhile Jann Lee tries to escape the lower section of the station when he runs into an officer. Police officer 2: Stop right there! Jann Lee grabs the officer by his gun and then kicks him, forcing him to let go off the gun. He recovers the card from the officer and uses it to escape the lower section, finding himself in the cell rooms. Officers were now swarming towards him and he finds himself backed into a wall surrounded by 4 officers. Jann Lee: If it comes to this, bring it on. Suddenly an officer is hit in the leg by a shrunken, he limps on to the floor, and the officers turn to find Kasumi and Leifang. Kasumi: Cease this Police officer 3: Not until you give up. The second and first officers appear behind Jann lee. Kasumi: So be it Jann lee makes the first move slamming the first two officers into a wall. As the officers turn to attack Jann Lee one of them is grabbed by Lei fang who punches him to the floor. The other offers then took each one on. The forth officer takes on Jann Lee, the fifth on Leifang and the sixth on Kasumi. The forth officer (who is still injured from the shrunken) is kicked in the chest sending him flying into the fifth officer. Leifang then takes on the sixth officer who thinks he has cornered Kasumi, just then Kasumi teleports in front of him. Police officer 6: What, she disappeared? Looking at the cherry blossom left on the floor, Kasumi appears behind him and trips him up. Leifang: We better get out of here. Jann Lee: But how? Leifang: Kasumi, can you teleport both of us out of here? Kasumi: I never tried to, but... Leifang: Give it a shot Kasumi, I know you can. Kasumi: OK Kasumi takes Lei fang's and Jann Lee's hands and then closes her eyes. Within a moment the three disappear in a cloud of cherry blossom. Plan B is worse Outside the Madrien club Kasumi teleports alongside Leifang and Jann lee outside the Madrien club. Kasumi feels tired. Leifang: I knew you could do it, Kasumi. Kasumi: ...Thanks Leifang: What's wrong? Jann Lee: The teleporting must have taken a lot out of her. She needs rest. Leifang: Kasumi... we still need you to stop that catburgler. You can't rest now. Kasumi: I'll be fine. Jann Lee: We must get inside and tell Zhou Jen the truth. Leifang nods, for once they are working as a team. Leifang: Stay right there, Kasumi. We will be back before you know it! Jann Lee and Leifang enter the club, which is still closed. (Jann Lee had a key so he could get inside, being one of Zhou Jen's trusted workers). Upon entering they here someone speaking...Leifang and Jann Lee overhear the conversation coming from the main bar. Zhou Jen: I will not be blackmailed to fire one of my most respected staff members, even if he had been acting strange within the last 24 hours. Romera: Oh, but you have no choice... Romera pulls out from her pocket a small pendulum and begins to swing it over Zhou Jen's eyes. Romera: You are getting sleepy... you are feeling very tired... Outside the bar, Jann Lee and Leifang knew what was happening. Leifang: We got to stop her. Jann lee takes a position outside the door Jann Lee: Stand back! Jann Lee smashes the door and runs in, Leifang following in behind. Romera turns around and then stands up. Romera: You two again! That is the second time interrupted my plans. Leifang: What do we get if we interrupt again? Romera: There won't be a third time Leifang. Romera takes a fighting stance, Jann Lee and Leifang does the same. Romera begins by charging at Leifang, however she is tripped over by Jann Lee. Jann Lee picks her up... Jann Lee: This was for manipulating me! He throws her into a table. Romera stands up starts to attack Jann Lee. Jann Lee blocks them putting both into a standoff. As she was about to attack again Leifang ambushes her. Romera gets turned and then punched in the face. Leifang: And that was for hurting me and damaging my house! Romera stands up. And walks away from them till she reaches the door. She turns around. Romera: Fine, you win! I was going to hypnotize your boss and make him think Jann Lee was lying. I returned the Golden Lotus to its safe. But, cross me again and you will regret it! She throws a smoke bomb at them and escapes. Leifang: Well at least she knew when she lost. Zhou Jen stands up and walks to up to them Zhou Jen: So it wasn't Leifang after all then. You made me scarred back then Jann Lee. He pats Jann Lee Zhou Jen: Well, means you did save the club, and your reputation. I will double your pay. And as for you Leifang... Leifang looks at him, slightly worried Zhou Jen: Maybe I should offer you VIP membership; after all you did save my friend here. Leifang: Hmm... Leifang suddenly remembers about Kasumi Leifang: Hold that thought for just a second. She runs out to find Kasumi, Kasumi was gone but not before leaving a note. Written on an old sheet of paper, and a slightly worn pen. The message reads: "Leifang, Jann Lee You may not know it yet, but you helped me realise I could still help people in trouble, though I will still be on the run, I have high hopes. I will stop by and pick up my clothes form your house, then go. Farewell" With that Leifang pockets the note then returns inside the club.
